Advanced Chemical Technology

A study of transparencies

Through innovative architectural design and laboratory planning, this new building will allow 40 faculty from six colleges to work collaboratively on complex projects. It will not only encourage interaction among colleagues, it will also house the latest technological resources for these researchers.

Supporting interdisciplinary research in biology, chemistry, and physics, the building will be juxtaposed with a nearby 1970s Walter Netsch structure. While Netsch's building employs the field theory overlaying solid, massive geometric shapes, the Advanced Chemical Technology Building is buoyant and transparent, reflecting the metaphor of the x-ray crystallography technology housed within.
