High-hazard manufacturing facilities pose a unique set of occupational and environmental challenges, from noise-induced risks and fall hazards to constrained equipment access and ergonomic strain from repetitive tasks. These dangers can escalate when handling high-risk materials, increasing the potential for chemical exposure or catastrophic events if not properly managed. Furthermore, the demanding nature of these environments can make it difficult to attract and retain skilled staff.

At the ISPE Annual Meeting, Flad and Promega will lead a session showcasing Promega’s Chappelle Manufacturing Center as a model for how an integrated design and planning approach, combined with innovative operational solutions, can transform high-hazard facilities. Attendees will gain insights on strategies that enhance safety, optimize efficiency, and elevate the overall employee experience, ultimately fostering a healthier, more engaging, and more sustainable workplace.
