Gov. Juan F. Luis Hospital Project Featured in Florida/Caribbean Architect
The Gov. Juan F. Luis Hospital & Medical Center (JFL) is featured in the latest issue of Florida/Caribbean Architect, a publication of the AIA Florida chapter. The new 115-bed hospital will serve the 40,000 residents of St. Croix and patients from neighboring islands after two Category 5 hurricanes severely damaged the island's only permanent hospital.
Flad is working with local government, hospital leaders, and other key stakeholders to design the state-of-the-art facility with a focus on resiliency, sustainability, and flexibility. The hospital will serve as a symbol of hope and stability for residents in times of crisis.
