Flad Project Receives 2021 AGC Build Wisconsin Award

AGC of Wisconsin, the premier professional association of contractors in the state, has honored FUJIFILM Cellular Dynamics, Inc. with a 2021 Build Wisconsin Award for its i-FACT facility. The project was selected as a winning entry in the competitive category of Commercial Projects – New Construction. This year's winners were recognized during a celebration held at the Fiserv Forum in Milwaukee, highlighting excellence across the region in sustainability, craftsmanship, innovation, and meeting difficult challenges throughout the construction process.

Flad provided full architectural services for the project which transformed an existing office building into a cell manufacturing pilot facility. The facility includes a clinical-scale, cGMP manufacturing facility, providing the required cell processing cleanrooms, quality control laboratories, raw materials and equipment storage, processing rooms, contractor development and manufacturing labs, offices, conference rooms, and common amenities to support FUJIFILM Cellular Dynamics' short-term and future growth.

Ultimately, the new facility facilitates advancement in the field of regenerative medicine, speeding the development of new therapies, while also providing career opportunities for highly skilled scientific researchers.
