Workplace and Laboratory Research Facility Improvements

Renovating for future success

Focused on developing innovative drugs for genetically based diseases, this biopharmaceutical company was faced with the need to expand their existing facilities to accommodate continued growth. Supporting their research in nucleic acid-based therapies, Flad renovated the 34,300-square-foot project into state-of-the-art chemistry, analytical, and imaging laboratories, while also providing additional office space.

Positioned at a prominent corner of the original, single-story facility, the two-story addition redefines the existing structure into a multi-height façade, reflecting the client's cutting-edge research and innovative therapies. The addition's second story houses a new mechanical penthouse to support laboratory operations.

Working with the construction manager throughout the design process, the Flad team ensured the design would not only effectively address the client's needs but would also offer a cost-effective solution.
