Sociologists talk about communities having three places – the first is home, the second is work, and the third place is where people go to hang out, socialize, and build community. The third place is a place where peoplechoose to be. An attempt to engage the consumer has motivated developers to incorporate the third place into their planningfor a variety of industries, including healthcare.
