Monday, April 29, 2019
11:20am-12:10pm
Orlando, Florida
Prompted by the evolution of the digital era in both data gathering and communications, laboratory research is in the midst of radical transformations in both organization and methodology as it aims toward becoming more efficient and productive. Workplaces have undergone a similar transformation, with digital communications resulting in changes to the structure of the office environment. This session, by Flad's Robert DeGenova and Abigail Alexander, will present and explore all aspects of laboratory research through the lens of three recent R&D campus master plans and subsequent renovation projects. Attendees will learn how research can become more productive through changes in facility design and operations by utilizing design strategies that allow for restructure and changes without significant impacts to capital costs.
