Genesis Health East Campus Staff Signs Topping-Out Beam

A beam signing was recently held at Genesis Health in Davenport, Iowa to mark the topping out of its East Campus hospital addition. Staff gathered to sign one of the final structural members to be set in place for the rooftop helipad elevator penthouse.  The seven-story tower project completion is scheduled for May 2017, with renovation of existing ORs scheduled to be completed in May 2018.

Approximately 2,000 Genesis employees who attended a recent series of all-employee Genesis Summit events signed the beam. According to the hospital, excitement among employees at being a tangible part of project construction was such that the beam had to be turned over to accommodate everyone who wanted to sign it.

The 320,000-square-foot hospital addition stands between and connects to the existing hospital building and an existing parking ramp. The addition will include a new entry lobby, outpatient services exam rooms, a café, a gift shop, a pharmacy, 16 ORs (including one hybrid and two heart), a PACU, and 96 acute care general and orthopedic surgery beds.
